Western Fashionista Rebel

Poise and attitude, she is a 1920's woman. Bright colours and sparkly gems; feathers tall and confidant like the woman she is. Her hat represents her masculinity and strength while her bodysuit complements her enticing feminine figure. She is energetic and excited for the change in the world to come. The inspiration started with the desire to represent and celebrate women in a vibrant and eye-catching. The colors are inspired by the surroundings of the Cayman Islands and the design is inspired by the showgirl of the 1920s with a fusion of modern-day carnival.

Gem of the World

This design is reminiscent of wings. A play on the flights of people coming to see the beauty of the Islands. The focus on the white costume with blue reflective accents reflects the white sand and blue waters. This design is to highlight the importance of the Cayman Islands marine environment and the need to preserve it so local people and visitors can enjoy it for years to come. But more importantly, as a small island nation, this design represents a plea for the world to do its part in taking care of the environment, especially the oceans.

A new concept projected into the future without losing its classical roots.

Gravity Cat

It was build to show the world where gravity changes. To make that possible, we build a cylinder structure made by steel frames that rotates 360 degrees, and we put a wooden made room set inside of it. When it rotates, the room inside of it also rotates and the props fall and swing. That helps to make look like as if the world changes its gravity. The room itself was designed very realistic that looks like real Japanese college student would living in. This gap between realistic scenery and unrealistic movement made the scene even more interesting.

Relation Ship

Initially, the audience witnesses evocative gestural performance animation of the main character, fishbone queen, giving away precious gifts from her own body. Upon entering the virtual reality environment, the viewer is immersed in a living bodyscape. This project is originally designed to be displayed in an installation setting as a stop motion film and 3 virtual reality headsets which provide 3 different immersive experiences inside the main character. The design of puppets and sets are deeply inspired by marine biology with the usage of found pieces of jewelry and objects.
