Kasane no Irome - Piling up Colors

An installation design of Japanese Dance. Japanese have been piling up colors from olden times to express sacred things. Also, piling up the paper with square silhouettes has been used as a thing representing sacred depth. Nakamura Kazunobu designed a space that changes the atmosphere by changing to various colors with such square "piling up" as a motif. Una Corda

The Una Corda Piano design departs from the traditional concept of acoustic pianos that consist of the technical piano surrounded by a furniture casing. The Una Corda design strictly focuses on the functional aspects of the instrument, the sound quality and the mechanical properties. The mechanical parts being visible adds to the educational experience whilst playing the piano, offering an insight into how the audible tone is actually created.

Gem of the World

This design is reminiscent of wings. A play on the flights of people coming to see the beauty of the Islands. The focus on the white costume with blue reflective accents reflects the white sand and blue waters. This design is to highlight the importance of the Cayman Islands marine environment and the need to preserve it so local people and visitors can enjoy it for years to come. But more importantly, as a small island nation, this design represents a plea for the world to do its part in taking care of the environment, especially the oceans.
